Institutes:

Kherson State University is the largest university of Kherson with the 4th accreditation level. Over the years the university has opened five institutions: Institute of Foreign Philology, Institute of Natural Science, Institute of psychology, history and sociology, Institute of Philology and Journalism, and Research Institute of Information Technology. 

Institute of Foreign Philology provides training on full-time, part-time and eksternal forms, trains bachelors, specialists and masters in public order and for the means of legal persons on the basis of agreements concluded with them.

It covers the work of the following departments:

  • Department of History of World Literature and Culture;
  • Department of Russian Language and General Linguistics;
  • Department of Translation Study;
  • Department of German language;
  • Department of Slavic Languages and Methods of Their Teaching;

  • Department of Theory and Practive of Translating from English.

The institute operates postgraduate studies in the field of: 03.00.13 Human and Animal Physiology, Botany 03.00.05, 03.00.20 Mycology, Entomology 03.00.09, 03.00.04 Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry 02.00.04, 19.00.08 Special Psychology.

 

Institute of Psychology, History and Sociology was founded in 2004 as a result of the reorganization of two departments - the socio-psychological and historical. A prerequisite for the establishment of the Institute was the opening of the specialty of the new education policies - sociology.

December 15, 1992 Institute of Philology and Journalism separated from the composition of the philological and began its existence as a separate unit, and from September 1, 2006 after obtaining a license to train specialists in the direction of "Journalism and the information" is renamed the Institute of Philology and Journalism.

In the institute there are 5 departments:

 

  • Ukrainian language and sociolinguistics;
  • Ukrainian Linguistics;
  • Ukrainian literature;
  • Foreign Languages and Literature;
  • Journalism.


Since 2000, Kherson State University has a specialized scientific council for the protection of Ph.D. theses on specialties 13.00.02 - the theory and technique of training the Ukrainian and Russian languages; 13.00.07 - Theory and Methods of Education, which is protected by more than 60 PhD research.
